The new single ‘Bear’ was released on the 24th of April 2020. Its the second single from Bear and the Bird, and has a more energetic and heavy feel to it. Together with Night Bird from January 2020, the singles are giving an idea of just how diverse Bear and the Bird can and will be.
The single ‘Bear’ is crucial to Bear and the Bird, because the birth of this single kick started the project in the first place. I have been making many different sounding music projects, but I fell in love with the intensity and energy combined with the sort of monotone meditative motion behind.
Most of it was composed through live recording of playing synths and tweaking the parameters live while recording. Its a great way to work cause you get a more raw and live like feeling to the music – maybe because its just not so perfect…
It was later finished and mixed over a prolonged weekend alone in Samsø (island in denmark) in the spring 2019.
